Cul-de-sac of FIRE

(the JONES in You've Got a Friend in Me)

Our neighborhood gets together in one of the cul-de-sacs each year for a neighborhood BBQ. We bring our own meat and an item to share and we all sit around and laugh and talk and get to know each other better. Then we go home.

Well,
this year,
we had an ambitious planner,
and there was not only a BBQ,
but karaoke/lip sinc performances and then fireworks after.

It was so fun. Our family was asked to come up with a song to perform...and seeing that the majority of us Weyands are GIRLS, it ended up being a Miley Cyrus song, Party in the USA. We practiced and practied all that week and came up with a few dance moves and such...see if you can guess what they were (haha!) Here's a video of our "song and dance."

And then, as if that wasn't enough embarrassment,
I consented to be "Sporty Spice" with some friends
and we performed a Spice Girls song, Wannabe.
We edited out the last part, a bit too much for all of us,
and kept it nice and short.
We ran out of camera room near the end, so we only got about half on tape.
Here it is.

It was so fun to see all our friends and all the "talent." We had a great emcee and it was such a blast. There were costumes, and the dancing...how to describe it all. Don't you just love being around people you know and seeing a whole new side to them??? There are plans and talk for next year...hopefully this will be a tradition that sticks.

Friends From the Start

As if the summer hadn't been so fun as it was--
we get a "CALL" from Tanya and Jeremy and they are COMING TO TOWN!
We were all so excited.
They came over a couple nights that week for dinner and fun.
We wish they could have stayed WITH us, maybe next time.

We did a lot of eating and laughing and catching up...and time went by way too quickly!

We hope to see you all before another 4 or 5 years goes by!

Boy do we LOVE these people!

Wiggin' Out!

Grammie Weyand is quite the package sender.

When we opened a fun package from her not too long ago, this is what was inside...

We want to know if she and Grandpa tried them all on before they sent them to us???

Thanks for the fun!

We played more games, just no more pictures. It was so fun. I've never laughed so hard. My favorite of the night was Doug, trying everything he could think of to get his mouth to those bags! AND, Brian grabbing Mindy up in a huge bear hug after having just beat her! What a night. Loved it! Thanks for Katie and Chris for getting that all together.

What a week. How lucky we are that we can have so much fun together. Late nights playing games, sticking papers to our foreheads...Ponyo...all the laughs. I love you guys.
Can't wait till next time!
